Ideal program to reorient your career
This Paralegal Technology program prepares you to perform several functions in the legal fields such as commercial law, family law, criminal law, etc. You will be able to edit and submit files for analysis and research. For example, you will learn how to write pleadings, perform legal research and manage several other types of legal files.
This program enables students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to work within the legal profession. These include, but are not limited to, analysing and researching legal issues, drafting procedures and other legal documents, attending meetings with clients and assisting lawyers during trials before different tribunals. This intensive four-semester program (18 months) in Paralegal Technology leads to an Attestation of Collegial Studies (ACS) and includes a 6-week internship (210 hours).

Bilingual Environment in Paralegal Technology At Collège O’Sullivan de Montréal inc., this program is not limited to the study of law. To better prepare you for the job market you will follow French as a Second Language courses, as part of the general education classes. You will also be able to take a law course in French from the second semester on. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to perfect your bilingualism each semester with other students enrolled in this ACS by completing a group assignment in French.
In order to comply with the needs of the labour market and the directives of the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur, you will learn how to:
- Read second-language doctrine and jurisprudence;
- Learn basic writing skills in a second language;
- Carry out bilingual research.

Equipment required
The student will need to equip themselves with a computer. A computer can never be replaced by a cell phone. Here are the minimum characteristics required for the computer:

Requirements
Admission requirements
To be eligible for a study program leading to an attestation of college studies (ACS), candidates must have a Secondary School Diploma (SSD), a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) or have studies deemed sufficient by the college, and meet one of the following conditions:
Have interrupted their studies for at least two consecutive semesters (or one school year)
OR
have completed at least one year of post-secondary studies (spread over one year or more).
*A combination of post-secondary studies and interruption of studies is acceptable.
Studies towards the completion of a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) are considered post-secondary education.

- High school transcript issued by the “Ministère de l’Éducation”;
- Last post-secondary transcript, if applicable OR Equivalence issued by the “Ministère de l’Immigration, Francisation et Intégration du Québec”;
- Birth certificate (long-format issued by l’État Civil).
Candidates born outside of Quebec must submit documents proving their official status in Quebec.
Collège O’Sullivan de Montreal inc. operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications are processed throughout the year. An applicant will usually be notified of the Admissions Committee’s decision within three weeks of their application during the registration period.
Canadian or international student fees must then be paid according to the established deadlines.

Mock Trial
As part of the ACS in Paralegal Technology, you will participate in a mock trial. This special project is prepared by students during the course of Legal Procedures Practicum in the last semester of classes.

Computer Laboratory
