Description
Objectives of the program
The computer network technician acts as a specialist in an organization. He or she is responsible for the design, maintenance and optimal use of the computer network. He or she manages the installation of the operating system, and configures workstations and servers. He or she implements effective strategies to ensure the backup of physical or cloud data and the security of the computer network. The computer network technician provides users with the necessary technical support and is able to intervene and solve any computer problems on the network.
This specialized three semester program (12 months – 1 170 hours) includes a three-week internship (90 hours) in a company.
Required equipment
Students must have a computer with the following characteristics:
Windows 11 PRO
Processor: Intel I5 ou I7 – 64 bits (Intel VT-x ou AMD-V ou SVM)
RAM Memory: 16 Gb and plus
Hard Drive: 512 Gb SSD ou plus
USB: USB 3.0
Wired network card (or USB wired network card)

The College does not loan computers to students. Please Bring Your Own Devise. A computer cannot be replaced by a smartphone.
Requirements
The admission requirements
Candidates must have a Secondary School Diploma (SSD),
OR
a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS)
OR
have received instruction deemed sufficient by the college;
Candidates must also meet one of the following conditions:
Have interrupted their studies for at least two consecutive semesters (or one school year);
OR
have completed at least one year of post-secondary studies (spread over one year or more).
*A combination of post-secondary studies and interruption of studies is acceptable.
Studies towards the completion of a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) are considered post-secondary education.
To apply, candidates must submit the following documents:
- Admission form to be completed online;
- High school transcript issued by the “Ministère de l’Éducation”;
- Last post-secondary transcript, if applicable;
- Equivalence issued by the “Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration du Québec”;
- Birth certificate issued by l’État Civil;
- Candidates born outside of Quebec must submit documents proving their official status in Quebec;
- Application fees (please refer to the tuition fees schedule).
The Collège O’Sullivan de Montréal inc. operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications are processed throughout the year. An applicant will usually be notified of the Admissions Committee’s decision within three weeks of his/her application during the registration period.

Students who wish to do so can obtain the “Cisco Certified Network Associate” or CCNA certification, as well as CompTIA (A+), Dell and IBM.
The college is a member of the prestigious Cisco Networking Academy. Cisco is a global networking equipment company that has developed several training courses used in networking around the world.
The program offered at the college prepares students for the certification exams and will help you increase your chances of becoming a certified professional.
